ABOUT
My passion for designing practical and versatile genderless clothing began when I started creating clothes for myself using fabric leftovers from colleagues and clothes from my closet. My focus was on comfort, freedom of movement, and creating designs that would enable me to live my life without restrictions.
As a dancer, I needed clothing that could keep up with my active lifestyle and expressive movement. I developed a unique design philosophy based on explorative tailoring techniques, using wide shapes and dark garments to create a genderless and versatile wardrobe for anyone who wants to feel free and safe in their clothes.
Through my fashion art project, SHAIWAI, I aim to create a wardrobe that is ageless and diverse, catering to the needs of individuals of all backgrounds and identities. The design process and samples were all created by me, and for over two years, I wore and refined the designs to meet my needs and preferences.
SHAIWAI is designed to last, using sustainably made, high-quality fabrics with a zero-waste certificate. I am dedicated to creating a community of individuals who feel empowered, confident, and comfortable in their clothing choices and believe that fashion should be a form of self-expression and a celebration of diversity.
